The Information Society Office of the Hellenic Ministry of National Education
and Religious Affairs deals with the exploitation of ICT supportive technologies
in special needs education.
It participates in editing competition specifications
on special equipment, special software, access in school intranets. It also
involves to the process of technical offers evaluation. It participates into
receipt committees of school laboratories equipment.
It provides information
concerning ICT supportive technologies to thw head departments and institutions,
while participating with lectures in conferences on Special Needs Education.
It manages projects on Special Needs Education within the Operational Program
of Information Society.
It is Present in special needs schools where there
have been installed special ICT equipment, in order to evaluate their use
in the field. Objective of our office is offering children the ability to
approach ICT technologies, being benefited by its advantages and consequently
achieve:
- Autonomy
- Ability to communicate
- Access to information

- Laboratories for pupils with Hearing disability.
- Laboratories for pupils with visual disability.
- Laboratories for pupils with kinetic problems.
